1.0  Introduction to MCRF

Mbeya Consultancy and Research Firm (MCRF) is a  research and consultancy firm on  interventions that include proposal and report writing; data analysis; basics and analysis of Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS); Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA); business planning; editing and proof reading of private, public and academic documents (Dissertations, Research proposals and academic reports); language translation (Arabic, French and Swahili); Baseline survey for newly established projects; consultancy on the establishment of academic institutions, consultancy on agriculture,   training on gender responsive pedagogy, training on entrepreneurship, training on management and management review  and consultancy on extension services to farmers.
The firm’s office is located at Mafiati area near St Augustine University of Tanzania – Mbeya centre opposite Roman Catholic Church (Diocese of Mwanjelwa – Bus Stand for Dala dala)
 MCRF was established in January, 2016 and over the period provided high quality services to our clients mainly university students, academicians, researchers, private and civil societies. The firm has been duly registered pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of the business names (registration) act and rules made there under the Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELA), with registration Number 425150 and has also been registered with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and awarded certificate of registration for
 Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) 133-332-529.

Mbeya Research and consultancy Firm endeavors to strengthen the ability of government personnel, Civil Society and private sector to empower people to question their situation and act to realise their vision of a dignified life.

VISION

To remain a leading research and  capacity-building organization in Mbeya and Tanzania at large.
Our development objective is to strengthen the ability of scholars, entrepreneurs and government departments and civil society Organizations (CSOs) and their partners to empower people to question their situation and act to realize their vision of dignified life and human security. Furthermore our capacity building interventions focus on improving our clients and beneficiaries’ effectiveness and efficiency to achieve their missions.
We see ourselves as an actor working in collaboration with many other actors in strengthening private sector, civil society organization and public sector in the region and the country at large.  We do this primarily through training interventions and consultancies.  This involves two critical aspects:  The relationship between trainees and the surrounding organizational environment; and the linkages between short-term training interventions and long term processes of social and organizational change.  MCRF’s role in capacity building is that we respond to identify needs and also proactively keep abreast with new developments in the training and development sector. 
Our Focus Is On The Three Main Areas:
  • Increasing competence in conducting development programmes. This involves applying participatory development methodologies to enhance responsiveness and legitimacy to constituents.
  • Improving the ability to influence and change organizational policies. This involves building capacities to link concrete activities and programmes with national, regional and global policy agendas.
  • Improving management practices and organizational development.

2.0 Our Approach

Our approach is collaborative and client-centred.  We specialize in assisting organizations to implement long-term solutions.  We believe in working in partnership with our clients to assist them to develop the capacity and capability within to effect successful change.  MCRF training philosophy is based on principles of adult learning emphasizing experiential learning. Our Training & Development Advisors have a wide range of skills and experience, and are able to work with, government departments, private sector, civil society organizations, teams and groups in any region in the country.
MRCF consists of highly skilled, multi-lingual, committed consultants with extensive knowledge and experience in a wide range of research methodologies. MRCF’s  consultants have successfully completed a number of large-scale research and capacity building projects for various local and international organizations including:  International Journal of Sustainable Development, various researches on environmental history based on Shinyanga, Tabora and Morogoro, project write ups  and implementation including the education project by the Japanese embassy  under WAMA Foundation, Preliminary study on the history of fishing in Rufiji District, Girl Child Education Project by UNICEF   under WAMA Foundation, various business plans have been prepared for the business entrepreneurs at Mwanjelwa in Mbeya, research on Neo Colonialism &the concept of Underdevelopment published by U.K, Xlibris International Publishers and many others.
